Pilates by Janessa was founded by Janessa Clark after years of educating Pilates enthusiasts as a freelancer. Janessa has been a certified Pilates instructor since 2005 offering innovative private and group Pilates classes for the general public, dancers, yogis, athletes, and seniors. Building on Janessa's busy life as a New Yorker, Pilates by Janessa focuses on having a mobile business model; supporting small studio owners who are growing their businesses, collaborating with freelance educators in one-off workshops, and training Janessa's own global and mobile clientele of executives, expats, travelers, and locals. Pilates by Janessa sessions are tailored to the needs of each client and/or partnering studio. There are a variety of levels and structures so that anyone looking to experience the benefits of the Pilates Method may do so without worry or anxiety.
Pilates by Janessa offers classes based mainly on contemporary approaches to Pilates incorporating anatomy, exercise science and personal training philosophies. Classes also thoughtfully incorporate some classical elements while ranging from absolute beginners to advanced levels. Whether a client has taken 100 classes or has never trained in Pilates at all, they can rest assured that they will gain a comprehensive understanding of Pilates while working in a safe, fun, and challenging environment.
Pilates by Janessa is pleased to provide group and private Pilates Mat instruction in addition to Pilates Apparatus (Studio) sessions on the Cadillac, Reformer, Tower, Springboard, and Ladder Barrel. Many props are also utilized including stability balls, foam rollers, small weighted balls and exercise bands.
