Janessa holds a comprehensive certification through BASI Pilates® and is a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) member.
Always eager for knowledge, Janessa has completed courses for Pilates with Stability Balls, Foam Rollers and Small Props, Pre/Post-Natal Pilates, Back/Hip Pathologies, Pilates for Scoliosis, and Pilates for Special & Aging Populations. She also holds two Barre Fitness Certifications. Most recently Janessa has become a Core Consultant through the Bloom Method in Boulder, Colorado.
In 2014, the Pilates by Janessa brand become so popular that Janessa was able to finally realize her long-term goal of opening a Pilates studio in Stockholm. Since opening the studio Janessa has developed robust programming featuring open classes, private training, pre/postnatal courses, boot camps, retreats and detoxes. In 2015, the studio launched into teacher education by offering the first-ever BASI Pilates® Mat Teacher Training Program in Sweden. The studio is now the official Teacher Training Center in Sweden for BASI Pilates® International. Tim Kasper (Pilates Instructor) spent over 30 years globe trotting as a performer and student of movement an d theater. While traveling he simultaneously explored various therapeutic movement modalities that promised to help balance the body, refine and enhance expression, and improve access to the natural mechanism of the human body; basically searching or“technique”. One day, after living and working in NY for 10 years, he realized that he had finally found a satisfying and reliable approach to singing, acting and dancing. He was suddenly working with one intention for all three disciplines and his teaching became infused with a clearer point of view than he had ever had. The magic he was prescribed was Pilates.
